...There are no words to describe your awesome.
Antjedieastra on March 23rd, 2011 12:46 pm (UTC)
Aw, thank you! If you like more, the Doctor Who masterlist has some of the same stories when it were crossovers with TW, but there are also some others as well, like the alien bar scene or when they all were in the TARDIS. I bought myself that TARDIS playset, couldn't help it!
royalladyemmaroyalladyemma on December 9th, 2013 04:44 am (UTC)
These are absolutely brilliant! The patience it must have taken to get every little detail in place is just mind-boggling! Greatest heaps of praise on you; thank you so much for sharing.

Where on Earth did you find all the tiny props?

Please say you're going to make more scenarios?????
Antje: JohnB2011dieastra on December 9th, 2013 08:08 am (UTC)
Well hello! What a nice surprise on a grey Monday morning! Thank you so much for all the praise. Sometimes I set those scenes up alone, but other times I play together with friends, and we always have so much fun together!

As for the tiny props, if you just google dollhouse miniatures, there are several shops, your mind will be blown away what is available. Seriously, everything from the real world is available in small as well. Some things like furniture are very expensive though, as this all gets handmade. So some of the mini stuff in my pictures I also have made myself.

And of course I am going to make more, I have in fact some pictures in the pipeline yet which I haven't posted yet. There is more to that story of "The Doctor and Jack are gardening" and I just realize I haven't put the first part into this list. Are you only into "Torchwood" or into "Doctor Who" as well? Might be worth checking it out, since Jack originates from there and has guest starred in several episodes. To know more about his back story. So here is the first part of that gardening story: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/63262.html

And this would be the complete Doctor Who stories list (some are crossovers with Torchwood so those are linked on both lists): http://dieastra.livejournal.com/23912.html

And then I have several "Stargate" stories as well, that's how I started many years ago, my first fandom. Also, if you want to know more, you can check out what I wrote not so long ago about my life with action figures and hopefully answers all questions here: http://projecttorchwood.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/the-coffee-shop-my-life-with-action.html

I probably should put that link onto the list as well.

I just had a peak into your journal - greetings to Las Vegas from Dresden, Germany! I have been there for one night many years ago, back in 1994. We had booked a Californian travel where we also visited L.A. and San Francisco and the Yosemite Nationalpark and made a dertour to Las Vegas. If ever John Barrowman gets his wish for a Las Vegas show, I will be back!

May I finally ask how and where you found me? Just curious! Feel free to friend me to always see updates. I also always put the links into the doctorwho community. Or, if you like to see the work of others, we also have a multifandom action figure community: action_tales Check it out, there are some more awesome Torchwood stories there by my friends. It's nice to know I am not the only crazy one in the world ;)

Oh, and one of my upcoming stories once I got it all together will be the figures on original shooting locations in Cardiff. So, stay tuned!

First of all, I found you through Reel Torchwood -- I'm going through and reading all of those stories and one of them referenced your work, so I peeked in and fell in love!! Again, the sheer patience it takes to work like this is just mind boggling!! I cannot wait to see what else you have worked up!

yes, I love Torchwood and I do read Doctor Who as well. In fact, I saw the Day of the Doctor at the cinema rather than on the telly -- I felt like I was right there in the middle of the story it was so fantastic seeing it that way!!!

Did you know tht John has a new album coming out next year? check this link out (if you haven't already),

A friend of mine has a petition going around trying to get him to come to Las Vegas for a concert -- hopefully, it'll get him here!!!
Antje: JohnB2011dieastra on December 10th, 2013 06:51 pm (UTC)
I never have heard of that site before. It seems to be still very active? I might have to check it out. I am a member of torch_wood but sadly this community is pretty dead.

(I don't take it you would have the exact link leading to that post?).

I see that we also have a few mutual friends, so I thought you found me through one of them. Would you like to be LJ friends as well? If you look for someone to squee over JB with, I am the right person ;)

My icon is from this year's Fedcon, but I first met him in 2011 at the Hub convention in London. As for Fedcon, check also out these awesome group pictures we did: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/61899.html

Oh yes, I saw the CD news yesterday (he already had hinted about doing it this way during the "Pressure Pad" filming) and already bought the CD. I was devastated that the studio visits already were sold out. Then later that evening two more popped up and I snatched one of them for 200 GBP. I was quite excited afterwards ;) So expect another report in the future ;) I just hope I can go and it does not clash with anything else I have planned, like the Torchwood convention in April in Birmingham.

He said on Twitter that there would be stuff for the US added after Christmas, so keep checking back if there is something for you!

I know about the Las Vegas petition but I have not signed it because I think only people who truly want to buy a ticket should sign. It would be awful if we got lots of signatures but then nobody bought the tickets. I have signed the petition for a concert in Germany which we started after Fedcon, and we already have reached the goal of 500 signatures.

Just let's wait a few years, let's John become more famous in America through "Arrow" (do you watch that? Do it, awesome show!) and with his new ABC show "Sing your face off" in January. Once they realize what a versatile entertainer he is, there must be US concerts and one day he will get his dream of a Las Vegas show. I think it is too early yet but good luck with the petition!

royalladyemmaroyalladyemma on December 10th, 2013 11:29 pm (UTC)
Yes, I watch Arrow -- quite truthfully, if John weren't in it, I don't know if I would have started. I love his surprise visit at the end of the episode a couple of weeks ago -- un-credited -- we weren't sure if he was going to come back as a ghost-like spectre, or in memory flashbacks or just what they had planned.

You know, and it's only my opinion, but I don't think Arrow would be quite as successful as it is without John being in it. The BBC might not like to admit it, but John is a lot more popular than they give him credit for. (Did that make sense?) I think it's a crime that they don't use him. He's a very funny, funny man and could easily anchor a sitcom; he's got great dramatic acting skills and could head an ensemble cast for a mystery or crime drama.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's brilliant on Pressure Pad (I'm amazed at how much trivia I know!!! -- I even 'won' the bonus round six times, including the £14,000 round!!!) I was up every morning at 5am for five weeks to watch the show and now my mornings are just empty and bereft of gorgeous John!!!
Hee heee heeeee!!!!

Right now I'm watching 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' -- an old stop-action animated story from my childhood -- watching this and the 'Muppet's Christmas Carol' are the highlights of my holiday season. Never miss them.

Okay, time to go fold the laundry before it wrinkles -- talk to you soon!!!!

Hugs from me and the kitty cats, Melinda

Hiya! Sorry I never replied to this, there was so much to do before Christmas, and then I flew to London to see David Tennant in theatre, and then to Glasgow to see John in panto. I am just back home from another London trip where I was allowed to watch him record his new CD in the studio, that was a very emotional and intimate experience. I will write a longer report about it yet.

I also have done a few more action figure stories in the past weeks which you surely would enjoy but you still haven't friended me back, so you are missing all the fun ;) Just saying.

I also did start to watch Arrow only because of John but soon totally loved it. The end of season 1 was quite spectacular! I was pretty sure that he would survive, as the Dark Archer is something like Lex Luthor for Superman, and comes back all the time, but still that looked pretty convincing and I was a bit scared. I wrote two fanfictions where I invented ways how he could have survived. Would you like to read them? You can find them all here in my masterlist: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/83704.html

I still need to watch all the Pressure Pad episodes and also the Superstar dogs. I saw a few and they were cute! He was also at a big Crufts event last week where he did jump the obstacles himself LOL So it was not dogstacles but Johnstacles. We laughed.
