Art: Pastell background
Seeing dustbunny105's colorful Transformer collection I compared it with my pastel, wanted to put up a link - and found I had never posted these pictures that you are about to see now. They are from April 2015. I used them for background in this story where Jack Harkness meets John Tracy (who was sent to me by a friend in Belgium): https://dieastra.livejournal.com/147774.html

The picture did not come out exactly the way I had planned but I want to show it anyway. I got a bit inspired by the way Bob Ross is doing landscapes and his happy little trees. Lemme tell ya, that does not work so well with pastel.

The box is actually from my great-grandfather who was a professional painter, I guess I inherited the creative gene from him! There's more stuff at my art tag if you like.

Thank you but not really ;) I guess I was self conscious which is why I never posted it. These are what I am more proud of.

Those are great! And although you're not so keen on this one, I still think it's good. Certainly better than anything I could do!

Thanks again!

Here are some examples of what my imagination had aimed for. I need to find a way to do this. When I'm not playing with figures that is ;) I have so much nice paper and paints and pencils but somehow no idea anymore what to do with them. All the creativity goes into the figures it seems.

Those are stunning, aren't they? The only way I could ever aspire to something like that atm would be via digital manipulation - and even then, I'd need more photoshop skills to do it!!

Ahh, I'm glad my post prompted you to post these! The pics of your pastels are so satisfying. And the picture is honestly quite nice. You did some great color blending in there! The improvement is still definitely noticeable between this and the other pictures you linked. Excellent work!

Wow. So you really have it! The sense of colours and composition - duh, this sounds so posh - but damn, I LIKE your art very much!!!

Yeah, I feel you, it never does.

Thank you! Yes, I love all the colors, I should do more with it. Seems that all my creativity goes into the figures these days.
