I'm almost 40 (next month) and live in beautiful Dresden, Germany (former Eastern Germany) If you don't believe me how beautiful it is, check out the pictures when the Doctor once visited me here:
And with that I am right at the point - I love my action figures and I often set up funny scenes with them. I have lots of miniature stuff. Check out the links that start with "Masterlist for ... action figure theatre" at the right side - I have figures of "Stargate" (that's where it all started), "Torchwood", "Doctor Who" and soon hope to buy "Arrow" and "Sherlock" figures. I am also customizing figures, that means taking some and changing them - I made an Owen that way from the Torchwood team, and I also made figures of John and Carole Barrowman. That's a long story which ended with my five minutes of fame when they were talking about me in a TV show. No kidding. Here is an entry where I explain it all a bit better:
I also recently got interviewed (or rather: interviewed myself) for a Torchwood website, if you like to read more about this hobby you can do so here:
Otherwise, I love to travel to conventions, concerts, theatre and stuff. I have been to Vancouver twice for "Stargate" cons with Richard Dean Anderson, and now often fly to the UK to see John Barrowman or David Tennant live on stage. I think it is the best way to spend one's money - also meeting with all my international friends at these events and having a great time together. My next plans are David Tennant in "Richard II" in London in December, John Barrowman in "Dick McWhittington" in Glasgow in January and my friends and me also already have tickets for the Starfury "Torchwood" convention in Birmingham in April.
We also hope for another John Barrowman concert tour in autumn, then I will return to Cardiff, which is a beautiful city. As well as in Vancouver, I felt immediately at home and didn't want to leave at all. And, since I told you, how beautiful my home-city is, that is saying something ;)
As you can see, I also like to ramble about my favourite topics. I often write long and detailed reports of all the theatre plays, concerts and conventions and post pictures of the stars I meet, so if you are interested in reading that, check out the according tags at the right side.
"Stargate" was the show that brought me out of my shell, made me explore the internet, meet all my friends. I also learned all my English while reading "Stargate" fanfictions. I have written quite a few myself as well, not all are yet translated and posted to English in here. I never managed much for "Doctor Who" or "Torchwood" and thought my writing muse had left me - but recently I totally fell in love with the new show "Arrow" and much to my own surprise, already wrote the third "Arrow" story. I highly recommend only checking those out once you have seen the first season, as there are spoilers for the finale.
Well, welcome, nice to get to know you a bit better, hope we'll have a great time together!
Astra (it's just Astra, the "die" means "the" in German, has nothing to do with dying)
